Portland is one of the Pacific Northwest's most unique cities - a bit wacky, weird, hipster, yet beautiful.  Here are some fun things to do in Portland, Oregon on a weekend getaway!

Rose Garden

A stop at the International Rose Test Garden is one of the best things to do in Portland - this is the "City of Roses" after all. The 4.5 acre garden boasts over 7000 rose bushes!

Powell's City of Books

Powell's encompasses an entire city block and you'll never see a bookstore like it! Allow at least a few hours to browse here (and leave extra room in your suitcase!).

Pittock Mansion

Once home to one of Portland's most influential families, Pittock Mansion is also one of its architectural wonders. Also do not miss the city views from here!

This is a city of coffee snobs, so one of the best things to do in Portland is to sample all the brews. Some places to try include the original Stumptown and Heart Coffee Roasters.

Portland Japanese Garden

Known as one of the best and most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan, you'll find a sense of tranquility and zen while wandering through the stone walkways here.

Craft Beer

Portland has a renowned craft brewing scene, so you'll find it everywhere here! Taste some beers at one of the many breweries around town, or take a fun bikes & breweries tour!

VooDoo Doughnuts

Known for their outrageous and Instagrammable doughnuts, VooDoo is a Portland institution. Pro tip: Skip the main downtown location and head to a different outpost to avoid the line.

This is a foodie city, and sampling the eats is one of the most fun things to do in Portland! Try Tasty + Sons, Nong's Khao Man Gai, Le Pigeon, Beast, and Pine State Biscuit.
